Import or export contacts

You can transfer messaging contacts between different messaging accounts by using a .ctt file.

Many messaging applications can export contacts as a .ctt file. To learn how to export contacts as a .ctt file, see the documentation for the application.

Do any of the following:

Import contacts

  1. In the application that you want to export from, export the contacts as a .ctt file, and then save the file to your Mac.

  2. Sign in to Communicator.

  3. On the File menu, click Import Contacts from a Saved File.

  4. Locate the file that you want, and then click Choose.

Export contacts

  1. Sign in to Communicator.

  2. On the File menu, click Save Contact List.

  3. Type a file name, choose a location, and then click Save.
