The SharePoint mobile app and the OneDrive mobile app work together. When both are installed, you can browse SharePoint sites and manage files stored in SharePoint on mobile devices.
Why do I need to install the OneDrive app to manage my SharePoint files?
OneDrive and SharePoint work together to provide you with a great mobile experience. Using the SharePoint app, you can easily view a list of your recently accessed files. When you need to manage files, the SharePoint app connects you to the OneDrive app to view team documents and libraries.
Will my files still be in SharePoint?
Yes! The OneDrive app lets you view and manage your SharePoint files. Your files remain in SharePoint.
Does the OneDrive app support all of my SharePoint document library functions?
Common functions are available now. More SharePoint specific features will be added to the OneDrive app soon. For example, support for custom metadata and custom views are planned.
What if I can’t install OneDrive?
Sometimes there are controls in place from your organization to limit installation of mobile apps. If you're unable to install OneDrive, contact your organization’s administrator or technical support and ask about mobile app installation limitations.
