Hide or display the Paste Options button

By default, Excel displays a Paste Options button on the worksheet to provide you with special options, such as Keep Source Formatting, when you paste cells. If you don't want Excel to display this button every time that you paste cells, you can turn this option off.

  1. Click the File tab, then click Options.

    Note: If you are using Excel 2007, click the Microsoft Office Button Office button image , and then click Excel Options.

  2. In the Advanced category, under Cut, copy, and paste, clear or select the Show Paste Options button when content is pasted check box to hide or display the Show Paste Options button on the worksheet..

    Note: If you are using Excel 2007, the check box is titled Show Paste Options buttons
