Getting maximum number error when you try to redeem Office?

You can get this error when you’ve redeemed the maximum number of copies of Office to a single Microsoft account. You have a couple of options to work around this.

1 - Create a second Microsoft account

If you want to redeem more copies of Office and you’ve reached the limit, you can create a second Microsoft account and redeem more copies of Office using this second Microsoft account.

Note: When redeeming multiple licenses to a single Microsoft account, there is no central product key management on the My Account page.

  1. Create a second Microsoft account from

  2. Go to the location where you’re purchasing Office, like

  3. Purchase and redeem the remaining copies of Office using the new Microsoft account.

2 - Consider volume licensing

Software volume licensing makes it easier and more affordable to run software on multiple computers within an organization.
