Where (geographically) is the data stored for Microsoft Forms?
Microsoft Forms data is stored on servers located in the United States.
Who is eligible for the Microsoft Forms?
Microsoft Forms is available to Office 365 Education customers. If you are an Office 365 Education customer and are interested in evaluating Microsoft Forms, please visit http://forms.microsoft.com and provide your email address. We will contact additional customers as we expand the Preview in coming months.
Will Microsoft Forms be available in all markets and languages?
Microsoft Forms is available in all of the Office 365 Education customer markets and languages.
Can multiple people collaborate together on designing a form or quiz?
Yes, you can create a link that allows multiple people to collaborate on a form or quiz you created. See Share to collaborate to learn more.
Can I make a template out of an existing form or quiz so other people can use it?
Yes, you can create a template link that allows others to use the form or quiz structure you created. See Share a form or quiz as a template to learn more.
Can forms be completed by users that don’t have an Office 365 account?
Yes, you can set options to allow users without an organization or school ID to fill out forms. In this case, users respond to questions anonymously. If you want to send forms to individuals outside of your school’s Office 365 Education account but still keep track of who filled out the form, you can ask for users’ names and other identifying details in the form you create.
Is there a Microsoft Forms mobile app?
Microsoft Forms are available through desktop and mobile browsers, and users can both create and complete forms within the browser. This ensures that the widest number of people can reply to your Form without having to download and use a separate app.
What are the browser requirements for Microsoft Forms?
Microsoft Forms is optimized for Internet Explorer 10+, Edge, Firefox (latest version), Chrome (latest version) and for Android (latest version) and iOS (latest version) web browsers.
Is Microsoft Forms HIPAA and BAA compliant?
Yes, data in Microsoft Forms follows the standard O365 Compliance Framework and belongs to Compliance Category C as outlined in the framework.
Are FERPA and BAA protections in place?
Microsoft Forms meets FERPA and BAA protection standards.
Can Microsoft Forms be disabled?
Administrators can turn off Microsoft Forms by visiting the User Management tab in their school’s Office 365 Admin Center. See enable and disable Microsoft Forms.
Will Microsoft Forms replace Microsoft InfoPath?
No. Microsoft Forms is an application designed to be used by educators to create basic forms such as quizzes, surveys, and registrations. Microsoft InfoPath and Power Apps are the solutions for creating complex forms and workflows for the specific needs of enterprise customers.
What is the limit on the number of responses allowed for Microsoft Forms?
You can receive up to 5,000 responses with Microsoft Forms. If you require more than 5,000 responses, we recommend exporting the current responses to an Excel workbook and then clearing the existing responses from your form or quiz. Your existing form or quiz can then accept more responses after clearing existing responses.
