Flag or pin a message in Outlook.com

To remind yourself to follow up on a message, you can add a follow-up flag. A flag gives you a visual cue that you want to return to that message later. Any item with a follow-up flag can also be assigned a due date. In the message list, flagged items display the Flag button symbol . When you mark a flagged item as complete, the flag symbol changes to Complete button .

Pinning a message moves it to the top of your inbox so it's easy to find later. A pinned message is indicated by a vertical pin.
