Excel crashes after working on a spreadsheet for some time

You may experience a crash in Excel for Windows if you've opened a spreadsheet and worked on it for a while.

You may try running Excel as an administrator as a workaround to fix this problem. There are several ways you can do this:

  • Right-click the Excel program icon and select Run as administrator.

  • Right-click the Excel program icon, select More, and then select Run as administrator.

  • Right-click the Excel program icon, select Properties, click the Shortcut tab, click Advanced, place a check mark next to Run as administrator, then click OK.

You may also want to check to see if you have a 3rd party application called Sticky Password. If you do, you may want to try excluding Excel from the app.
