After opening OneNote on your desktop or Windows device, you may get an error message 0xE00015E0 that doesn't go away, and can block you momentarily from using the app.
We've investigated this authentication issue and did not find sufficient information to determine a root cause. If you are still impacted by this issue, we recommend the following steps:
Install the latest version of OneNote 2016 for Windows desktop.
Go to Start > Settings > Accounts > Email & app accounts.
Verify your account information by entering your Microsoft account password.
Re-start OneNote and launch the app. You may be prompted to sign in one more time.
