Don't show links in a suspicious email message

Note: This article has done its job, and will be retiring soon. To prevent "Page not found" woes, we're removing links we know about. If you've created links to this page, please remove them, and together we'll keep the web connected.

If you're not sure whether you should click the link in that email, don't click it, especially if the message landed in your Junk Mail folder. And remember, not all suspicious email messages get caught by Outlook's junk email filter, and some may sneak into your Inbox.

To make yourself more secure, you can disable the links in all suspicious messages.

  1. Click Home > Junk > Junk E-mail Options.

The Junk menu in Outlook 2013

  2. On the Options tab, make sure the Disable links and other functionality in phishing messages option is selected, then click OK.
