Delete project, resource, and timesheet data

Periodically, you may want to create more space in your Microsoft Office Project Server 2007 database by deleting old data about projects, resources, tasks and assignments, task updates, status reports, and timesheets.

  1. On the Quick Launch, click Server Settings.

  2. On the Server Settings page, click Delete Enterprise Objects.

  3. In the What do you want to delete from Project Server? section, select the type of data that you want to delete.

    The data that is associated with the data type that you selected appears in the table at the bottom of the page. The table does not appear if you selected Status Report Responses or Timesheets.

  4. Select the item that you want to delete in the table, and then click Delete.

  5. If you selected Status Report Responses or Timesheets in the What do you want to delete from Project Server? section, specify the date range for these two items by using the date pickers calendar , and then click Delete.

Items that you delete from the database can be restored. On the Quick Launch, click Server Settings, and then click Administrative Restore. Any changes that were made between when the item was deleted and when the item was most recently backed up cannot be restored.

Why can't I perform some actions in Project Web Access?

Depending on the permissions settings you used to log on to Project Web Access, you may not be able to see or use certain features. Also, what you see on some pages may differ from what is documented if your server administrator customized Project Web Access and did not customize the Help to match.
