Create a model subsite in Planning Business Modeler

When you create a new application in PerformancePoint Planning Business Modeler, PerformancePoint Planning Server automatically creates a root model site. You can create models, dimensions, and other elements that you need at the root level. You can also create model subsites to better organize your application and facilitate the work that you want to do.

For example, if the business has subsidiaries in several global regions, you might create a model subsite for each region. Then, you can customize elements of each subsite as needed. For example, you might create different business rules in a Europe subsite and a North America subsite to reflect different GAAP and EMEA accounting standards.

Important: Model subsites can be created or deleted only by a user who is assigned to the Global Administrator role. To use Planning Business Modeler to create a model subsite, a Global Administrator must also be a assigned to a Modeler role or to a Data Administrator role. However, to avoid potential database errors in multiple-server environments, we recommend that you use PerformancePoint Planning Administration Console to perform all Global Administrator tasks.
