Change the shape of the nodes in a PivotDiagram

When you create a PivotDiagram in Microsoft Office Visio Professional 2007, each node appears as a rectangle. You can add a more visually interesting shape to the node from any open stencil.

Add a shape to a PivotDiagram node

  1. Click the node that you want to change.

  2. On the PivotDiagram menu, click Apply Shape.

  3. In the Apply Shape dialog box, in the Stencil list, select the stencil that contains the shape that you want.

Note: Only open stencils will appear in the list. To open another stencil, on the File menu, point to Shapes, point to the diagram type that uses the stencil that you want, and then click the stencil name.

  4. In the stencil, click the shape that you want.

Revert to the default rectangle

  1. Click the node that you want to change.

  2. On the PivotDiagram menu, click Apply Shape.

  3. In the Apply Shape dialog box, click Reset Shape.

Note: In addition to using the Apply Shape feature, you can also use the Data Graphics feature to enhance the look of your PivotDiagram. On the Data menu, click Data Graphics. For more information about using Data Graphics, see Enhance your data with Data Graphics.
