Cancel your subscription to Office 365 operated by 21Vianet

Note:  This article applies to Office 365 operated by 21Vianet in China.

You can cancel your paid or trial subscription in the Office 365 admin center if you have fewer than 25 licenses assigned to users. You can also cancel any subscription, no matter how many licenses are assigned, within the first 30 days after purchase. For any other subscription, or if the Cancel subscription option is not available, contact the 21Vianet support team.

If you cancel Office 365 before the end of your term, you may be subject to early termination fees, or you may be owed a refund. If you are owed a refund, you must contact the 21Vianet support team.

1. Remove domains

If you added your own domain name to use with Office 365, you have to remove a domain from Office 365. Any DNS records you created that point to Office 365 also have to be updated. For example, you have to change the Name Server (NS) record at your registrar to a different server. (Your registrar typically provides the server name for this record.)

2. Save your data

You lose access to your Office 365 data when your cancellation becomes effective, so save your files to another location before you go. Any data that you leave behind is permanently deleted 90 days after cancellation.

3. Cancel

  1. Sign in to Office 365 with your work or school account.

  2. Go the Admin center.

  3. Select Billing > Subscriptions (or Manage and buy subscriptions).

  4. On the Subscriptions page, choose the name of your plan.

  5. Under Actions, select Cancel subscription.

  6. Review the important dates, and then provide feedback on why you are cancelling.

    Your subscription will now appear in a Cancelled state and will have reduced functionality until it is deleted.
