Business Contact Manager for Outlook E-mail Marketing Service: Welcome to the E-mail Marketing Service

Important: Service Closure Notice Microsoft will discontinue the E-mail Marketing Service effective May 1, 2009, but you can continue to use the service until May 1, 2009.

After the service is discontinued:

  • You will no longer be able to sign-up for an E-mail Marketing Service account in Business Contact Manager, either through the beta trial offer or free, credit offer received as part of the Business Contact Manager registration process.

  • Any e-mail Marketing Campaigns that were launched using this service will remain in Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager. However, you will not be able to track your campaign by clicking the Refresh Data button on the Marketing Campaign record.

  • Any attempt to use the E-mail Marketing Service will result in an error message being displayed.

With the E-Mail Marketing Service (available when you install Business Contact Manager for Outlook), you can create an e-mail marketing list that helps you reach and attract and retain new and existing customers. The E-Mail Marketing Service wizard guides you through the steps needed to set up your e-mail settings, test your e-mail message, and launch your Marketing Campaign.

Note: This is part of the process of creating a distribution list in the E-Mail Marketing Service for your Marketing Campaign, and then tracking the results. Just select E-mail Marketing Service as the distribution method on your Marketing Campaign form. To create a Marketing Campaign, on the Business Contact Manager menu, click Marketing Campaign, and then click New.
