About Japanese features

Some of the content in this topic may not be applicable to some languages.

Outlook provides several features to help you manage information and communicate with others in Japanese. These features include:

Japanese contact format

By using the Japanese contact format, you can enter furigana for contact information such as a contact's first name, last name, and company name. Also, Outlook can insert the state or province and city information based on the ZIP/postal code. In addition, the Japanese contact format changes the order of some name and address fields and removes others so that you can enter and store Japanese names and addresses correctly.

Lucky days

To help your plan events such as weddings and trips, you can show lucky days in the calendar. You can show specific lucky days or all lucky days.

Support for Japanese text

By using an input method editor (IME), you can type Japanese text in e-mail messages, tasks, and other items. This feature is available if you use the International pane in System Preferences (on the Apple menu) to either turn on the Japanese keyboard layout or set the Mac OS to Japanese. For more information, see Mac Help.
