[SDP 5]OneDrive for Business troubleshooter

Problem

This article contains information that applies when you use the OneDrive for Business sync client (groove.exe).

The OneDrive for Business (SPOneDriveForBusiness) Diagnostic detects certain problematic conditions and collects information to troubleshoot Microsoft OneDrive for Business issues. This diagnostic supports both OneDrive for Business 2013 and OneDrive for Business 2015.

Solution

This article describes the information that may be collected from a computer that's trying to connect to OneDrive for Business.

Required permissions

The rules in the diagnostic package use the local administrator account of the client computer.

Manifest results

The following table lists the files that are collected when you run SPOneDriveForBusiness, and it describes the information that each file contains.

Description

File name

Contains the status of each rule that is executed, including any problematic conditions that were detected.

ResultReport.xml

This is an xlst transform that formats the results in the ResultReport.xml file. It contains no customer data.

Results.xsl

Contains debug information that's generated during the execution of the manifest. Also contains timings on each rule that is run. May contain customer data. However, every attempt has been made to reduce the amount.

SPOneDriveForBusiness.0.debugreport.xml

Contains additional debug information for the manifest execution. May contain customer data. However, every attempt has been made to reduce the amount.

Inventory scan of installed Office applications.

Prerequisites

To install this package, you must have Windows PowerShell 2.0 installed on the computer. For more information, go to Windows Management Framework (Windows PowerShell 2.0, WinRM 2.0, and BITS 4.0).
