Upgrade Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Pro

Microsoft 365 business requires Windows 10 Pro to help secure your data. If you have a computer running Windows 10 Home, follow these steps to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro.

  1. From your desktop, choose the Start menu, search for Microsoft Store, and select it.

  2. In the Microsoft Store, click in the Search bar, type Windows 10 Pro, and then choose Upgrade to Windows 10 Pro.

  3. Under Upgrade to Windows 10 Pro, choose Learn more, and then choose Buy.

  4. In the Windows Security box, enter your PIN to verify your identity.

  5. Review the payment page, read the terms of sale, make changes to your payment method if you like, and then choose Buy.

  6. Under Upgrade to Windows 10 Pro, choose Install.

  7. Save any files if needed, and then choose Yes, let's go to begin installing Windows.

From your desktop, select Start. Search for "Microsoft Store," and select it. Open the Search bar, enter "Windows 10 Pro," and select Upgrade to Windows 10 Pro.

Select Learn more, then Buy.

Verify your identity. Select Buy, and then Install.

Save your files if you haven't already. Otherwise, select Yes, let's go.

That's it. Your machine may restart a few time as it completes your installation of Windows 10 Pro.
